1st Saturday Match to be held this Saturday,

                           July 5th, 2008. 

     Start time is still 10:00am      Sign in begins at 9:00am 

The weather should be beautiful for all you desert dwellers!  The Wunder Weather site is calling for 92 degrees with only a 20% chance of late afternoon thunderstorms.
 
As usual the guys have planned a great match with 5 challenging stages including the USPSA classifier.

If you are coming up from the S.W. it is 71 into Congress then North on 89. If you are coming from Phoenix, go through Wickenburg to Highway 89. Turn North to Congress. 89 goes to the right up Yarnell Hill and through Yarnell/Peeples Valley. Head up towards Wilhoit, pass the bar on the right hand side of Wilhoit called 'North of Nowhere'. The turn-off to the range is 2 miles from this bar.  Look for mile marker 297. Then turn right on Forest Service Road 71.

If you are coming from the Prescott area, go to Highway 89 South. The range is 12.7 miles from the White Spar Safeway. As soon as you pass marker 298 look for Forest Service Road 71 and turn left.

There will be temporary sign on match days marking the exit when an event is being held.

COWBOY MATCH

 

 

Youre invited to they High Country Cowboys monthly CAS match for Sunday July 13. This months match theme (you know how I love a theme) is based on The Professionals. Released in 1966, this south of the border has an all star cast led by Lee Marvin, Burt Lancaster, Robert Ryan and Woody Strode with Claudia Cardinale providing some eye relieve for us cowboys.

 

Hope you get a chance to rent it, if you dont already have it in your video library. Cuz youll be doing some of the great things they do in the movie, like tossing some dynamite or shooting a bow and arrow all for bonus points (hint-hint) and all off the clock. This is the kind of stuff that drew us into cowboy shooting and adds some spice to match in addition to down range movement and great storefronts.

 

Sign-up starts 9:00 am, Shooters meeting at 9:45 with match starting at 10:00 am. Remember, youll be at 5300 feet and although its 20 degrees cooler you need to drink plenty of water and wear some sun protection.

 

We set up the range at 8:00 am the day of shoot and help is always appreciated.

 

If you need directions to the range we are located off of Hwy 89 12 miles south of Prescott on Forrest Road 71. Coming from Wickenburg it is a right turn. Coming from Prescott it a left turn and about mile in from the turn onto FR 71.
